Learning to Wait
It has been quite some time since I’ve shared here. I think I got distracted and overwhelmed with life and trying to adjust to the changes happening, all while rearranging my priorities. I still am. God often teaches so much through the storms of life. Dependence and patience are the primary lessons I’ve experienced recently. I’m very much the type of person that just likes to get the job done. I always need to have something to DO, but sometimes that something is learning to wait. A hard thing.
Slowly but Surely
Our homestead progress was at a standstill for months. We have a bridge over one of our creeks that desperately needed to be repaired. The foundation is solid — built with concrete and steel beams — but the top was untreated wood that had rotted from standing water draining on it during the rainy season. My husband worked on the drainage issues, and directed the water flow away from the bridge, but we have been waiting for the wood on the bridge to be replaced before we could begin any type of major work. That project was finally accomplished in December!
Now we are in the process of organizing our steps forward. There are so many details to work out with preparing raw land to build! It will be another test of patience, but thankfully now we can begin. In the meantime, we hope to welcome our third little homesteader to the family in late March, our first boy! Exciting (and busy) times ahead!
